Animation

So here it is, a draft finish of the animation from my last post. Sorry I haven't posted for a while I've been buried under other projects which I've been doing my best to get out of the way. Like I said it is only a draft an not the full version, I still need to add effects, music and dialogue. Anyway hope you enjoy this animation which I have simply called 'The Afair'.

What am I up to right now?

Like I said in my previous post I am currently working on a 3D narrative which involves taking a portraits and paintings and creating a storyline with them while editing them into an animation at the same time.

We did previously work on a few shot practices for this project. One of these practice runs involved 3D masking on AfterEffects. For this we had to find a historical picture on the web. After this we then imported it into PhotShop and then cut the picture into several layers. Aftet this is finished the layers would then be imported into AfterEffects where the 3D masking tool will be used to give the photo animation. This is the one I created

For my narative I have decided to make a sort of motion comic, similar to how some people have done similar ones for their YouTube channels. I have chosen a sort of 1920′s noir setting for my motion comic. These are a few of the paintings I have chosen to be used in this project.

A little bit about me...

Hello
So my name is Joseph Watson, I was born on the 17th of June, 1994. I grew up in a small coastal town in the South West of Britain called Weymouth. I like playing video games, watching horror movies, going fishing, going on walks and every now and then going out for a drink with the buds having buds (Budweiser my favourite beer)

For the past 3 years I have been studying Media at Weymouth college. The first 2 years were a BTEC Diploma in Film and Television and I am now currently studying a Bournemouth University course which is a Foundation Degree in Commercial Video and Multimedia. The course pretty much tasks me with studying docuymentaries from the whole of film history (Commercial Video) while at the same time learning how to edit and add my own special effects to my filmed footage using the Adobe workshop.

So that’s pretty much what I’m doing at the moment. I have worked on other projects including a small documentary for the 2012 Olympics, a short news story and I am currently working on a 3D Narrative using portraits and paintings. Hope to be blogging some of this work soon. I am Joseph Watson, media student, gamer, horror fan. Thank you for reading.
